      Possible Father for Duncan:
      A "Thomas McCreaven" was recorded in the Hearth Money Rolls
      There was also a "John McCreave" of Carnmoney Parish in County Antrim,

      John McRaven was in Mecklenburg Co, NC before 1771-
      may have had a farm 120 acres of land in Maryland
      1783 John Sr named as an adjoining land owner to Samuel Buchanan

      "Ordered P the Court that the following Persons-William Alexander,

      "Mecklenburg County, North Carolina Minutes of the Court of Common Pleas and
      Quarter Sessions, Vol. II, 1801-1820," transcribed by Herman W. Ferguson, on
      page 179, of the 1813 May session, Bk. 5, pg. 296, "The Execution of the under
      written Bill of Sale, Deeds, &c was proven & acknowledged in Court & ordered
      to be recorded, Viz:........... William, Charles, & James Polk, Heirsof
      Thomas Polk, Decd., to Duncan McRaven, for 170 acres of Land bearing date the
      30th day October 1796, [proved] by Isaac Alexander."

      There is an Elizabeth McRaven m. Robert Hood 15 may 1797, John Maxwell bondsman in Mecklenburg, NC. Perhaps a sister or niece ... dauElizabeth m. Luke Hood (b. 1792) in Knox, TN in 1816.

      There is a Duncan McCrevan listed in the 1766 Religious Census of Ireland in Craigalappan, Antrim, Ireland. Perhaps father or older relative.

      Also have seen his mother identified as Mary Stewart b. 1736 in SC.
